About: Wowed by Buckminster Fuller, I took a degree in Design at Southern Illinois where he taught prior to my time there (grad 1974), hitchhiked to San Francisco and became a Software Artist associated with Electronic Arts in the early 80's. EA published my music software 'Instant Music' in 1986 on the Amiga. Did some 8-bit Nintendo work then Windows multi-media in the early 90's including Cinemania. Been a .Net dev for 6 years now, but most of my interests are non-computer oriented now. Still a fan of visionary tech solutions though.

Initial computing thrill was the abstract movies John Whitney Sr. did by mounting movie cameras to WWII ballistic gun platforms which had were essentially motion platforms using analog computing. Had to wait for home computers to happen to get hands on, but set out to change the world with creative programming while making a living as a game programmer despite never being a gamer.

Been from 6502 assembly to C# in the meantime, still have some 'Tom Swift - boy scientist' in me, but mostly putting my time into non-computer-mediated experiences these days.

Dilettante level fan of metaprogramming, neuroscience, non-tibetan buddhism, phenomenology, temporary autonomous zones, random interesting topics aplenty.

yay for John Mclaughlin (musician), Bucky Fuller, Tim Leary, Rudy Rucker (mathemetician and scifi author), G. Gordon Brown (Laws of Form) Francisco Varela (biologist), John Whitney Sr. (filmmaker), Roger Schank (AI researcher)

Here's a little Flash actionscript program inspired by John Whitney, it's all about ellipses. I call it 'Synchros' Originally did it on a Commodore 64 in 1983, ported to Flash a few years ago.

For the last two years I've been involved with the Little Red Studio, mostly playing in the house band the last year and a half. For 4 years I hosted an event called 'Primal Rhythm' at the Wet Spot which was an erotic party with live drum circles. I did the audio tech magic for our Critical Massive 06 camp 'D-lay Station'. That was a reprise of the same installation I'd done at Phoenix Festival 2001 and 2002.

One of my dear friends from the Suicide Club helped launch Burning Man, and many of my old friends were core crew the first few years. I was busy starting a family and being a computer nerd and moving to Seattle so I didn't get around to going to the playa till 07, finally! I've learned my lesson, no computer screen is gonna make me miss any more parties!
